(a) A company manufactures two products J and K by means of two processes A and B. The maximum capacity of process A is 41 hours and of process B 17 hours. Each unit of product J
requires 7 hours in A and 3 hours in B, while each unit of product K requires 3 hour in A and 1 in
B. Use matrix method to calculate how many units of products J and K are produced if the
maximum capacity available is utilized
b) The equilibrium prices Pl and P2 for two normal goods satisfy the equations
9P1 + P2 = 43
2P1 + 7P2 = 57
Express this system in matrix form and using crammer's rule, find the values of Pl and
P2.
