I have had that kind of throat before. One way to get rid of it is to make some zen tea and put some honey in it. This has always helped me. You could also try menthol cough drops. If you have a humidifier in your house, I would hang around that for a while as well. Another option is to gargle salt water. Finally, the answer to your love question. I do not have much experience in this field, for I am only 13, but this is what I have seen happen with others. The boy in question will most likely be nervous and fiddle with things when you are near him, he will probably remember things you say.
