Tom works at an aquarium shop on Saturdays. One Saturday, when Tom gets to work, he is asked to clean a 175-gallon reef tank. His first job is to drain the tank. He puts a hose into the tank and starts a siphon. Tom measures the amount of water that is draining out and finds out that the rate is 50 gallons of water per hour. What is the slope in this situation?( the rate of change, think about what is constantly changing?)

What is the y-intercept? ( the initial value, think about here did it start)

Use the slope and y-intercept to write a linear equation that represents this situation. (y=mx+b) m = slope and b = y-intercept

If Tom works for 4 hours. Will the tank finish draining before he leaves work? Explain your answer.
