2a^2=6^2
a^2=18
a= +/- 3 root 2

It would be plus 3 root 2, since you can’t have a negative length. Also, the two dash lines means the lengths are equal, which is why I wrote it as 2a^2 instead of a^2+b^2=c^2(where a and b are equal).

No a triangle cannot be formed because when you add the two smallest number together (which would be 11) the have to be bigger than the number it is "against" ( which would be 12)
