So listen, this is nothing academic, I’m a cashier at Cracker Barrel right, so what they want me to do is suggest Hershey bars at the cash register. Which I have done before, and 85% of the time nobody wants anything. Sometimes I see people already with a bunch of candy, and I’m thinking, should I really ask them if they want Hershey when they already have six different candies? My floor leader is praising another girl for pushing people to buy candy, which honestly has never worked for me.. Some people get really mad if I suggest too much. It’s only worked a couple times, but it never really goes well. We have this Hershey sale going on right now so we are supposed to try and push people to get Hershey’s, my floor leader will even spend 2 minutes talking about Hershey’s and push people to get them.
I hate that. I can see the irritation on these peoples faces as she speaks, she’s the type that she won’t stop, she’ll ask if you want Reesie‘s 2 for 1, and if you say no she’ll go and she’ll say “want to buy some Andy’s mints as well? There 4 for a dollar “ and until they really insist and say no she won’t stop. I don’t want to be that person. But she insists sometimes that I suggest and I do but it never works. most people will tell me when I ask them if they would like to buy chocolate, they say “ oh no no.. I’m too full but thanks”
And sometimes she even tells me not to even saying “would you like”
She wants me to say “ I see you haven’t had dessert yet. We have some candies which kind would you like?”
I HAT THAT
