In a reflection about a given axis, the distance between the original position and the axis of rotation is the same as the distance between the final position and the axis.

So, for example, we can see that point B is at a distance of one unit to the x-axis.

Then the reflected point, B', will also be at a distance of one unit from the x-axis (but in the opposite side)

so if we have:

B = (1, - 1)

Then:

B' = (1, -(-1)) = (1, 1)

The general rule for a rotation across the x-axis is:

(x, y) ⇒ (x, -y)

we only change the sign of the y-component.

So:

C = (-3, -1)

then

C' = (-3, 1)

D = (-4, -3)

then

D' = (-4, 3)

A = (0, -4)

then

A' = (0, 4)

So the graph of the new figure is the one with the vertices A', B', C', and D'.
