Since the words random, normal, and confidence would be words one would hear on a daily bases, pairing it with feelings and thoughts works better for ones brain to understand. For example "I had a pretty normal day" as a saying seems quite ordinary in the use jargon heard on the daily. On the contrary however, I had a pretty normal day could mean "I had an okay day", "I had a normal day", or even "my day was in fact completely  not normal". The reasoning behind that very statement is pretty could mean any of those things and more as "pretty" as a word means many things. I would decide what the person saying that saying means not based of what they say but HOW they say it. For example if they say the passage "I had a pretty good day" with enthusiasm and with no pause in between there sentence I would believe there day was actually good. On the contrary if one said that very same passage with more breath, or made a emphasis on pretty I would most likely assume that the day was anything but.
