Consider the following scenario: Are the calorie content and sodium levels of health food bars related? Data were collected from 20 brands of health food bars of equivalent weight. The calories and sodium content (mg) for each brand of bar were recorded. The minimum calories recorded was 105 and the maximum was 180. The minimum sodium content was 320mg and the maximum was 505mg with one large outlier at 640 mg.

What descriptive and inferential statistics would you use to explore the relationship between these two variables? Why? As part of your justification, make sure you mention what type you think the mentioned variables are, and what you think are the dependent and independent variable(s).
