What are the two solutions of
x^2 -2x -4 =-3x+9

X^2 - 2x - 4 = -3x + 9  First bring everything to the left side
add 3x to both sides
x^2 + x - 4 = 9    subtract 9 from both sides
x^2 + x - 13 = 0
This does not factor so you have to complete the square or do quadratic formula.

x = (-1 + - sqrt (1 - 4*1*-13)/2)
