Can you and explain to me how to do: x squared+ 4x-5

This would be factored by using the grouping method. x^2+4x-5. Basically, the coefficient of the first term 'x' is 1. The number for the last term is -5. Multiply these two numbers and you get -5. Your numbers should multiply to -5 and add to 4. The numbers 5 and -1 would work, since 5 + -1 would add to 4. Factor this as (x+5)(x-1). Then if you wanted solutions think about what number would make each parantheses zero. The first parantheses would be zero and the next 1. You would only give solutions if they asked for them, if they asked you to factor you would write (x+5)(x-1).
