The reason is because -7 - 22 = -29. However, 22+7 = 29

Remember : When you have 2 negative numbers, you add them and you keep the negative sign.

1 - Remember that equivalent means equal. Something that is equal to something else means they have the same values. So when they asked you if they are equivalent, all you have to do next time is calculate them and they have the same values say yes and if not say no :)
