How do you solve and graph the inequality

3-2x> 11

You subtract 3 with eleven and you're left with -2x>8 and then I think you divide them but I'm not 100% sure

Olving a linear inequality is almost exactly like solving a linear equation. 

y=x+3 

Is generally thought of as a line with slope=1 and y intercept=3. 

Solutions are usually found by plugging in values for x and deriving the corresponding y values. 

For an inequality, follow the same procedure. 

y>x+3 

is graphed the same way, except that you draw a dash line and shade the area ABOVE the line. This indicates that (unlike an equation) the solutions are not ON the line but ABOVE it.
