Does every linear equation have an x intercept

The answer is no. Any line parallel to the x-axis (but not the x-axis itself) does not have an x-intercept as it does not cross the x-axis. This is the definition of parallel. For example,
y = 1
y = -1
and in general
y = b where b is a nonzero number
