Let the number of boys be x
according to question, the number of girls is (2x-5)
therefor,
       x+(2x-5)=100
       x+2x-5=100
       3x=100+5
        x=105/3
       x=35
hence the number of boys is x =35
and the number of girls is 2x-5=2*35-5
                                                 =70-5
                                                  =65.

G = girls. b=boys
100=g+b
g= 2b-5
we can plug this in to the first equation to find out the number of boys.
