2. Ana was given the following problem for homework to analyze: Suppose a volleyball player serves from 1m behind the back ine. If no other
player touches the ball, it will land in bounds. The equation
h(t) = -4.9t? + 3.28t + 1.7 gives the ball's height, h, in meters in terms of time, t,
in seconds.
Part A: Ana states that the axis of symmetry for the trajectory of the ball was the
volleyball net. Is Ana correct? Why or why not?
Part & Ana also states that the constant term of 1.7 is the position of the player
who receives the ball. Is she correct? Why or why not?
Port C. Finally. Ana states that the ball will hit the ground after 1.012 seconds, is
she correct? Justify your answer.

Suppose that 3% of all athletes are using the endurance-enhancing hormone epo (you should be able to simply compute the percentage of all athletes that are not using epo). for our purposes, a “positive” test result is one that indicates presence of epo in an athlete’s bloodstream. the probability of a positive result, given the presence of epo is .99. the probability of a negative result, when epo is not present, is .90. what is the probability that a randomly selected athlete tests positive for epo? 0.0297
