Kit’s responses are important because if she went like that without thinking then she would beTactlessness and offend the people in the church.Another example from the novel is on page 52 the author wrote “ Kit looked about eagerly. Is it far to the town?” she whispered to Judith. There was silence. “ This is the town” said Judith stiffly. This shows that It was Appalled at how small the town really was.
