This relates to the novel "The Great Gatsby" by some of the characters in the novel such as Tom and Daisy Buchanan.

I don't know why you are defining class here but there might be some context I'm missing. In most scenarios though, defining a term is not a priority and is defentetly making the introduction run on for a while.

I would add a sentence before the last sentence futher tying in what your introduction has to relate with the book or at least some words like: "and this is shown in the Great Gabsy" or something like that
