45x = 1042
Divide both sides by 45

x ≈ 23.15

But x have to be a whole number, so keep only the 23 part.
So, 23 pictures in each exhibit 23*45 = 1035

Not quite as 1042

Subtract 1035 from 1042.

1042 - 1035 = 7

Then subtract 7 from 45

45 - 7 = 38

The answer is 38
