Ms. Parks shows her students a large chocolate bar that is 3/5 of a foot long. She wants to divide the chocolate bar equally amongst three students. Peter says that each student will receive 1/5 of the chocolate because 3/5 divided equally into 3 equal parts is the same as 3 times 1/5.

Ann disagrees with Peter. She says that 1/5 of the chocolate bar would mean that the bar is divided equally into 5 parts.

Do you agree with Peter or Ann? Show your work and explain your reasoning.
