An easy deed.
We two points located in the Cartesian Coordinate plane given by,
P_1=(-2,1) & P_2=(2,5)
(x-coordinate,y-coordinate)
Conventionally, x is the horizontal axis on the graph whereas y is the vertical axis on the graph. They are mutually perpendicular to each other. x is called the independent variable and y is called the dependent variable
Doing some analysis first.
for (−2,1)
−2 is located at the negative x -coordinate which is on the right side of the graph after y -axis .
1 is located at the positive y -coordinate which is on the upper part of the graph right above the x -axis.
for (2,5)
2 is located at the positive x -coordinate which is on the left side of the graph on the right of the y -axis .
5 is located at the positive y -coordinate which is on the upper part of the graph right above th

(y - 5) / (x - 2) = (5 - 1)/(2 - -2)
(y-5) / (x - 2) = 4/4
y - 5 = x - 2
y = x + 3 so you have a line with slope one and y intercept (0,3)
