i agree with the other guy. clearly abc and dbc differ by an a and a d. therefore we need to switch the d in dbc to an a. to do this we will multiply by 4, since d is the 4th letter of the alphabet and a is the 1st letter. now, like always, divide by 2 for good measure. now abc = 79 * 4 / 2 = 158. so now 9x - 4 = 158. the answer is then 2 * 3 * 3 * 3 * 3   * 3 / 27
