The length of a rectangle is 5ft longer than twice the width. if the perimeter is 70 ft. find the length and width of the rectangle.

Let the width = x then we have that length = 2x + 5 and also that:
x + x + 2x + 5 + 2x + 5 = 70
6x + 10 = 70
6x = 60
x = 10

Therefore width = 10ft and length = 25ft
