The parallelogram cannot cover the whole entire trapezoid. Leaving a little bit of space. That space is the size of the triangle. Which takes up the space of 1/2 of the parallelogram.

So in total, you need 1 1/2 of the parallelogram to cover the entire trapozoid. And so 1/2divided by 1/3=1 1/2.
