Sam, Rob and Jim all leave the "START" location at the same time. Sam follows Route A, Rob follows Route B, and Jim follows Route C so they each arrive at the same "END" location. Each grid square represents 100 m distance. a) Which route is the shortest? b) What is the difference in the distance that Sam travelled compared to Jim? c) If Jim is travelling at an average speed of 16 m/s from Start to End, what average speed must Sam and Rob travel to arrive at the exact same time as Jim? Give your answer in m/s. NOTE: For this problem you need to know that the formula for the distance around the outside of a circle (called the "circumference") is C = 2nr, where r is the radius of the circle. Assume the radius of Town Hall is 200 meters.
