On my way to work this morning I walked with my friend for the first 1/4 of the distance, at which point he had reached his work. I looked at my watch and realised that I had been walking at 2/3 of my normal pace and so I would have to walk more quickly to get to work at my normal time. I normally arrive at work 5 minutes early, so I was still able to get to work exactly on time by walking at my normal pace for the remaining 3/4 of the journey.
