Doran wants to graph g(x) = 4x^2 - 24x + 7. He ends up with the graph
shown. He knows it will have a y-intercept at (0,7), because c=7. He knows
that -b/2a will give him the axis of symmetry, or the x-coordinate of the
vertex. When he calculates -b/2a, he gets -3. which he substitutes back
into the function, and gets 115. He puts those together, for a vertex of (-3,
115). However, that isn't the vertex on his graph. What mistake did Doran
make, and what result should he have gotten? Explain clearly, referring to
the axis of symmetry, and vertex of the parabola specifically, and
numerically. *

Jessa bought a yoyo from a company that claims that, with each retraction, the string rolls up by 60% of the original length. she sets up a tape measure and throws the yoyo 3 times. her data are charted below. throw length of string (feet) 1 3 2 1.8 3 1.08 jessa wants to find the sum of the length of string after 10 throws. what is the sum of the lengths, rounded to the nearest hundredth?
