Will give brainliest (Don't copy from the internet please) You have gone out to eat with a couple of friends. One is your friend Jamal and the other is your friend Marek. At the end, you get the check, and you decide to split it in two parts. You will pay for yourself and Jamal, while Marek will pay for 1/3 of the total amount. You end up paying $16.00 for your part of the meal. Later, you can’t remember how much the total bill was, but you are sure you can figure it out.

1. Write a system of equations to represent this situation, and solve the system to find out how much the total cost of the meal was (including your part as well as Marek’s part). Show all of your work.

2. How much did Marek pay for his part of the meal? Again, show all of your work.

3. Was this a fair way to split up the check? What might be a more fair way to split up the check?
