Now we know that 8 groups of 3 people can greet the parents. One student cannot be on the team becuase there are 25 students and 24 of them are already in groups. 25-24=1.

You could also use division and get 1 as the remainder: 25 ÷ 3 = 8 with 1 as a remainder
