Use the tape diagram to write an equivalent ratio in simplest form. Write your ratio using a colon and no spaces.

4:3 (y:b)

or

3:4 (b:y)

Lets say our ratio is Yellow to blue

therefore its Yellow:blue, thats a given

Now lets count the colors so we can give them each values

We have 8 yellow

So:

8:blue

Now lets find blue

We have 6 blue

Therefore our ratio is

8:6

8:6 is really just a fraction so to simplify we get it as far as we can go. Both 8 and 6 are divisible by 2 so simplifying it by a factor of 2 our ratio is in simplest terms:

4:3
