The peasent replied that he wanted one grain of wheat on the first space of a checkerboard on the first dey, two grainis of wheat on the second space on the second day. four grains of wheat on the next space on the third day, and so on. The king was like, "Whatever, weirdo" (probably), and agreed to these terms.
