A set of data was modeled by using the quadratic, linear, and exponential forms of regression. Nearly identical statistically significant r2-values were produced in all three situations. Complete the explanation of which type of regression model should be used?

If a quadratic, linear, and exponential regression model were to produce the same answer, the linear/quadratic/exponential model should be used since it is preferable to use the simplest/most complex answer that fits the data. There is no/some evidence that a quadratic or exponential is a better fit than the quadratic/linear.
