John was driving his electric car which had approximately 60 mins of charge left in it. He was driving on roads that
had a speed limit of 60km/hr. With this information, he knew that he could travel 60 kilometers in the hour of
charge he had left the issue was that road A (which he wanted to drive on) was 45 km long and had a lot of traffic
which would slow him down by approximately 15 minutes. John did however remember that there was another way
(road B) to his destination which had no traffic and was 55km long.

Which do you think would be the best option for John and why?
Hint: Think about the charge remaining in his car.

You would obviously pick the lesser traffic route, as the statement makes it clear there is no traffic.

This is because approximations of traffic can have  anegative effect not just on creating delays for other road users, but for other road users causing longer delays than expected.

We also have a volume of traffic that are at higher risk of causing unforeseen delays that include breakdowns and changing lanes. Both of these unforeseen reasons add to normal traffic delays that are caused by the following road works, roundabouts, emergency services, and heavy goods vehicles. Where no such vehicles are likely to be permitted on the non traffic route, we find this an easy decision to make. The decision to take the longer route and to avoid all potential delays that weigh over actual journey could easily be more than 15 minutes in a 1hr approximated journey. To ensure petrol is not wasted too he should take the non traffic route.
