If the first expression reads x(cube) • x(cube) • x(cube) and x(cube • cube • cube), then the answer is no. They are not equal. 

 x(cube) • x(cube) • x(cube) will be equivalent to x(to the 9th power) while x(cube • cube • cube) will be equivalent to x( to the 27th power).  

No because if you do the higher number minus the lower number you will get a positive. if you do it the other way around you will get a negative number
