A 10-year study (lasting from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2017) was conducted examining the risk of developing lung cancer among a group of 5 participants who were all exposed to asbestos without proper personal protective equipment when working in retrofitting old buildings. On the date the study began, the 5 exposed workers were enrolled and all screened negative for lung cancer. Since cancer can take time to develop, the workers were followed for 10 years and were re-screened at the end of each year (December 31st). The following represents the information the researchers collected from each of the 5 participants.

a. Calculate the prevalence of cancer on January 1, 2017 in the high-risk sample.
b. Calculate the incidence of cancer between January 1, 2017 – January 1, 2018 in the high-risk sample.
c. Calculate the prevalence of cancer on January 1, 2018 in the high-risk sample.
