The Problem:

Mrs. Ashe is planning to take her study group on a field trip to an amusement park. The regular cost is $55 per person. There is a party special that costs $46 per person with an additional $45 fee for a private room where students can eat lunch. Mrs. Ashe is trying to decide if she should use the regular price or the party special.

Part 1:

A) Write an equation in slope-intercept form (y=mx+b) to show the total cost of the regular price with x people, where x = number of students in the study group and y = the total cost.

B) Write an equation in slope-intercept form (y=mx+b) to show the total cost of the party special with x people, where x = number of students in the study group and y = the total cost.

You will submit these equations for part 1 of the assignment (DUE Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020 by midnight). You will receive feedback to determine if your equations are correct. You MUST have these equations correct in order to be successful in part 2 of the Project.

Part 2:

C) Graph the equations using desmos (Links to an external site.). (17 points)

E) How much would it cost to bring 6 people on the field trip for the regular price, and how much for the party special? Explain how you know this using 1-2 complete sentences. (17 points)

F) When would it be better to go with the regular price and when would it be better to go with the party special? Explain how you know this using 1-2 complete sentences. (17 points)

G) The director of the Study Group told Mrs. Ashe that she can have a budget of $725 to bring as many study group members as she can. What deal should Mrs. Ashe go with and what is the maximum number of people she can bring with $725? Support your answer by showing how many people can go with each deal using 2-3 complete sentences. Listed below are time intervals (min) between eruptions of a geyser. assume that the "recent" times are within the past few years, the "past" times are from around 20 years ago, and that the two samples are independent simple random samples selected from normally distributed populations. do not assume that the population standard deviations are equal. does it appear that the mean time interval has changed? is the conclusion affected by whether the significance level is 0.10 or 0.01? recent 78 90 90 79 57 101 62 87 71 87 81 84 57 80 74 103 62 past 88 89 93 94 65 85 85 92 87 91 89 91 follow the steps of hypothesis testing, including identifying the alternative and null hypothesis, calculating the test statistic, finding the p-value, and making a conclusions about the null hypothesis and a final conclusion that addresses the original claim. use a significance level of 0.10. is the conclusion affected by whether the significance level is 0.10 or 0.01? answer choices below: a) yes, the conclusion is affected by the significance level because h0 is rejected when the significance level is 0.01 but is not rejected when the significance level is 0.10. b) no, the conclusion is not affected by the significance level because h0 is not rejected regardless of whether a significance level of 0.10 or 0.01 is used. c) yes, the conclusion is affected by the significance level because h0 is rejected when the significance level is 0.10 but is not rejected when the significance level is 0.01. d) no, the conclusion is not affected by the significance level because h0 is rejected regardless of whether a significance level of 0.10 or 0.01 is used.

Ican interpret and represent the remainder in division calculations sensibly for the context (eg if we wont to know how many 40 seat buses will be needed to transport 170 students for on excursion, we divide 170 by 40 and realise buses and another smaller vehicle to that we need 4 transport 10 more students) solve the following questions. show your work! 11) the zoo had 420 butterflies that needed to be transported to a new enclosure. the boxes that the butterflies would be moved in only hold 80 butterflies in each. how many boxes would they need? 2 12) each classroom in the school can have exactly 25 students, if there are 345 students in the school how many full classrooms are there?
