Given a function f(x) = e−x−cos(x).

(1) Show that there is a root inside the interval [1,1.6].
(2) Using the fixed point iteration xn+1=g1(xn), where g1(x) =f(x) +x, with the starting point x0= 1.6. Perform 4 iterations to compute the values x1, x2, x3, x4. Does this scheme converge?
