Writing an equation for a parabola using the x-intercepts:
x=-1 x=4
f(x)=(x+1)(x-4) distribute
f(x)=x^2-4x+1x-4 combine like terms
x^2-3x+4
my question is, why does the -4 turn into a +4 in the final answer?
