Philosophy symbolic logic. use the 8 rules of inference in natural deduction and 10 rules of replacement plus conditional proof to prove the argument. don't omit the justifications for each line.
note from my instructor: you cannot simp from the right hand side, you cannot use three lines to do a cd. must use conditional proof.
the only 8 rules of inference allowed are:
1. modus ponens (mp)
2. modus tollens (mt)
3. hypothetical syllogism (hs)
4. disjunctive syllogism (ds)
5. constructive dilemma (cd)
6. simplification (simp)
7. conjunction (conj)
8. addition (add)
the only 10 rules of replacement allowed are:
1. demorgan's rule (dm)
2. commutativity (com)
3. associativity (assoc)
4. distribution (dist)
5. double negation (dn)
6. transposition (trans)
7. material implication (impl)
8. material equivalence (equiv)
9. exportation (exp)
10. tautology (taut)
