The point where these two functions intersect gives the value of x. It can be tough to draw the graph of some function but it gives exact answer once you have accomplished the drawing of the graph. Tables of values is when you will substitute the value of x in both f(x) and g(x), so after trial and error you can find exact value of x, where , f(x)=g(x). Lastly, successive approximation is used by selecting an interval and then values of x are substituted from the interval to calculate the exact value of x for which, f(x)=g(x) by trial and error method. Little bit lengthier and time consuming. The method that I prefer is graphing technology because once you draw the graph correctly, it gives you the correct location of x where f(x)=g(x).
