The number that is divided is called the dividend and the number which the dividend is being divided by is the divisor. The answer to a division problem is the quotient.  and the number which is left called remainder

for example :-   248 divide by 6

in this 248 is dividend   , 6  is divisor   after division we got  41 quotient and 2 remainder
