-4r+t=28 use this equation to use elimination with the other equation 2r-4t=-28

multiply 2r-4t=-28 by 2 so we can can eliminate 4r

4r+8t=-56

-4r+t=28

equal to -7t=-28 divide by -7 so t=4

plug that into -4r-9+t=19

-4r-9+4=19

-4r-5=19

divide by 4 on both sides r=-6
