Convert the initial equation 5x - 3y = 8 to get y = 5/3x + (-8/3)

We can't do anything with -5 = 3y = -8 because of the equal signs, therefore, option A is eliminated.

Option B in slope-intercept is y = 5x + -8, that is no where close to y = 5/3x + (-8/3), so B is eliminated.

Option C in slope-intercept form is y = 5/3x + (-8/3), the same as the initial equation, so choice C is correct.
