One of the fundamental rights of defendants in the justice system is the right to a fair trial. How is this right protected when a jury is sequester? 1. The jury must spend all their time studying the facts of the case, so they don’t make a mistake.
2. The jury will not hear things from outside sources that might influence their decision.
3. The defendant is guaranteed the jurors he selected when the trial begins.
4. The prosecution can have extra time after hours with the jury to make its case.
