You are a small town Sheriff (population 55,000). There is a huge crystal meth problem among the Anglo-Saxon population. They all live on the outskirts of your city and live in deplorable conditions. However, there is another group of citizens to consider. The inner-circle of your city is well developed, cultured and wish to make the city a tourist attraction. The mayor has secured wealthy investors to finance the project (building a giant theme park with indoor water park); however, they won’t release the money until the meth problem is obliterated. The mayor wants you to clean up the meth problem and said money is not an object. Develop a well thought out plan to rid the city of the meth problem. Things to consider:
The mayor will allow you 10 more officers. You currently have 30.
Solicit help from the Drug Enforcement Agency
Any city can use eminent domain to claim property that would be in the best interest of the city
You could utilize arrest, search, and seizure laws to take the meth properties.
Some of the unwanted populations have owned these properties for at least 100 years.
You are up for re-election in another year.
