Creating a Character: When an author creates a character they think about what they want the character to look like. They think about the words the character will use to describe their emotions, and they decide how the character will react to the events of the story.

Now you are an author and need to create your main character. First you need to give your character a name, decide what your character looks like, and what types of emotions and attitude they will have.

To get started you need to make a bubble map.

This is a bubble map. Put the name of your character in the middle. Then connect bubbles all around the characters name. Inside these bubbles you need to include 1 word or phrase that describes your character. In 4 of the bubbles use words or phrases that describe what your character looks like. In 3 bubbles use words or phrases to describe your characters attitude and emotions.

Even though you do not know the events your character will have yet you can decide now how you want their attitude to be like. For example, in the Disney movie "Inside Out", the author knew they wanted Joy to react happy to events, and that Sadness would always react sad.

After you have made your bubble map you need to write 3 sentences about your character using words from your bubble map.

Then you need to draw a picture of your character using the details you gave them.

Once you have completed the bubble map.
