Why would it be a problem if it took 4 months after Election Day for a new president to be inaugurated? 1.Because it is during winter, the weather may affect how the president gets to DC with no planes nor cars back then.
2.The new president may not be able to work with the old Congress.
3.That is enough time after Election Day to count the votes.
4.Newly elected presidents could not respond to problems quickly.
