How did the kellogg-briand pact of 1927 promote international peace?

Kellogg -Briand Pact is also known as Pact of Paris and it was signed on August 27, 1928. It was an international treaty that promoted abandoning war as an instrument of national policy.  Although the treaty failed in its cause but it was important for the development of international law.  

French foreign minister Nicholas B. Condit proposed this pact in 1927 as a treaty between US and France to outlaw war. He thought that it would improve the conditions between both the countries and hoped US support for France if a European war happens.

It was signed by eleven nations in Paris on August 27, 1928, it came into effect on July 24, 1929.   Sixty two nation signed the pact eventually.

In reality this pact proved ineffective in promoting international peace. German invasion of Poland and Italian invasion of Ethiopia are prime examples of it.

on june 23, 1972, the president signed title ix of the education amendments of 1972, 20 u.s.c. into law. title ix is a comprehensive federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity.
