In all honesty, I really don’t think that the outcome of the Korean War has been different had General MacArthur not been fired. I wouldn’t think so because the Chinese already entered into combat a really long time before General MacArthur was fired. However, it basically was General MacArthur’s fault that the Chinese entered into the war. If General MacArthur was not fired, then he probably would cause more issues.
Five-Star American General Douglas MacArthur was actually allocated to be leading the United Nations’ troops by President Harry S. Truman. President Truman's objective was to refurbish harmony in Korea, meaning both North and South Korea, as quickly as possible. He, meaning President Truman, never really wanted to provide the Chinese a motive to start combat. President Truman literally told General Douglas MacArthur to not to cross the Chinese border, but MacArthur did not listen to President Truman and crossed the Chinese border anyway.
To be honest, despite the fact some of my peers actually liked General MacArthur’s actions, the leader’s actions that I find more justifiable and reasonable would be President Truman’s. I probably would choose President Truman’s over General MacArthur’s is mainly because President Truman explicitly commanded General MacArthur to not go and cross China’s border. However, General MacArthur crossed China’s border even though he was told not to, which actually caused China to come into the war and this would actually make it longer than it should actually have been.
Five-Star American General Douglas MacArthur was the United Nations troop’s leader. General MacArthur actually decided to take some of the United Nation troops to attack North Korea’s forces, which actually surrounded the North Koreans between both the troops that General MacArthur decide to take and the United Nations’ forces on the front-lines. General MacArthur actually also wanted to annex China so they can regenerate China into a democratic, political system.
