What 3 events (time periods) in us history should every young person of color know about and why?

Three points in history young people of color should familiarize themselves with are the slave trade/ enslavement period in the 1700's, the civil war era, and the civil rights movement. Because these are pivotal times in history and must be learned so that horrible history may never rear its ugly head ever again.
