Toward the end of the Tang Dynasty, the government faced a series of rebellions in the outer areas.

The Tang Dynasty was an imperial dynasty of China. The Tang dynasty represented a period of progress and stability in the first half of the dynasty's rule. The Tang dynasty was ended in 907 when Zhu Wen deposed the last emperor of Tang, Emperor Ai of Tang, and took the throne for himself known posthumously as Emperor Taizu of Later Liang.
